This extended weekend, the U13 boys' team took part in the traditional Prague Handball Cup 2026 tournament.
In the group stage, they faced teams from the Czech Republic as well as foreign sides.
Results in the group stage (MD12):
Our entry into the tournament on Friday was incredible, the team was on top form, the mindset was set on a winning wave, everything was at 100%, “it was just top”, and the results reflected this. We ended the day with two matches for 3 points - one draw and one win.
On Saturday, a very strong team from Stupava was waiting for us to catch our breath. We knew very well that if we wanted to continue with the superb performances, we had to beat Stupava, the stands were full of great fans from among the parents, and so let's go - an incredible match full of emotions, twists, tense situations and at the end the desired victory and securing 100% progression to MD A, but from which position? (2nd or 3rd?)
Decided!!
Gaining 7 points in the group stage moved us from third place to the knockout group MD A, where the boys faced HK Slavia VŠ Plzeň.
On Sunday, we faced VŠ Plzeň in the knockout stage, in the match the boys gave a top performance at 100%, but the previous matches had taken a lot of strength from us, which began to run out in the second half. For the performance they gave, which was again at 100%, the boys deserve great praise and great thanks.
HK Slavia VŠ Plzeň 21:11 T. J. Sokol Vršovice
We would like to thank the boys for the superb performances they put in throughout the tournament, the team worked at 100% in every match and off the court, it is clear that there has been great improvement, which was evident in every player on our team, the boys showed that they can measure up to the best teams not only from the Czech Republic, but also foreign sides.
The biggest thanks go to the parents, with their tireless support they were another link in the brilliantly set up playing system. TJ Sokol Vršovice, thank you for the opportunity to take part in the tournament, to the organisers for a superb tournament and we look forward to next year.
